Faiza Hussain in “Hippocratic Oath” by Matt Duarte
This page is to be set up in four long vertical panels from the top to the bottom of the page, all equal in size.
Panel 1
Description: Faiza is running, talking on a communicator piece. Excalibur hangs in a strap by her waist. Around her, civilians are running in the opposite direction. She looks confused by the situation.
FAIZA: Pete, what’s going on? I was enjoying a quiet evening but now it sounds like World War Three out there.
PETE WISDOM (over com): Excalibur?! Are you in North London? Listen to me, stand by, Cap is heading there as we speak.
Panel 2
Description: Faiza is now closer to the source of the destruction, which we can now see is The Fury. The robot is destroying everything around it, while Faiza watches from a distance (with her back facing the reader).
FAIZA: Is... is that what I think it is?
WISDOM (over com): Yes, it’s the bloody Fury! We don’t know how or why, but it showed up two minutes ago and started wrecking havoc without rhyme or reason!
Panel 3
Description: Faiza stands there with Excalibur in hand, as if she had just taken it out of its holster. There is a shadow of doubt and worry over her body. Around her, there are more people running away from The Fury.
FAIZA: That’s the thing that fought Cap a few years back and nearly killed him. Pretty much invincible...
WISDOM (over com): Exactly. Listen, do NOT engage, support is en route. Cap is almost there, we warned the Avengers and the X-Men too.
FAIZA: ...Negative. I’m engaging.
Panel 4
Description: Faiza is now approaching the Fury, which looks in her direction with intent, almost as if analyzing her. She has Excalibur clutched in her hands, and is ready to strike at The Fury.
WISDOM (over com): What?! No! You are going to get killed out there.
WISDOM (over com): Excalibur! Faiza! What the #$%@ do you think you are doing?
FAIZA: What I’ve always done, Pete...
FAIZA: Saving lives.
Next: Excalibur vs The Fury!
I'll be honest, I have no idea who any of these characters are. I looked them up though, so I'm all caught up now :P
ReplyDeleteP.S. The Fury kinda sounds Nimrod.
Oh, man that is intense. The Fury burned its presence into my mind as a child thanks to Moore and Davis and I'm both glad and sad it hasn't been used more since. Given Faiza's powers, that'd certainly make for an interesting confrontation, Matt.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Danial, The Fury makes Nimrod look like a pussy.
