Batgirl - Page 2 - Ben Rosenthal

You may want to re-read my Batman Inc script from last week before continuing.

1. A shot of a window breaking, as Stephanie Brown in Batgirl gear comes crashing through it.

2. Batgirl gets up from the ground, cut from the glass.

BATGIRL
STOP!

3. Dick/Batman looks at Batgirl, his face revealing nothing. Other members of Batman Inc in the background looked surprised

4. Stephanie trying to stand next to Bruce, crouched over. She is in pain from the cuts. However, they are only minor scratches. Bruce continues to stare down the members of Batman Inc.

BATGIRL
You’re making a mistake, Dick. Bruce isn’t responsible.

BATGIRL
I am.

5. Dick/Batman addresses Batgirl.

DICK/BATMAN
I know.

DICK/BATMAN
But he harboured you, instead of bringing you to justice.

6. The members of Batman Inc are lunging at Bruce and Batgirl. Both Bruce and Batgirl have their fists up, ready to fight.

DICK/BATMAN
And that is something WE cannot stand for.

  1. You have to find a way of continuing this with each new character for like... FOREVER

  2. I don't really know the character, so I feel unqualified to comment, but you've written her pretty much how I would, so either we've both got her right, or both got her wrong :)

  3. Between this and last week, I'm beginning to question whether the Grayson we're seeing here is fully sane or if he might have managed to fall off the deep end just a little.

  4. Of course, as Max points out, you just HAVE to see this story through to its conclusion now, Ben. I can't wait till they all have to fight Galactus.

(Weirdly, I thought of doing my script this week as a continuation of last week's too. I couldn't think how to make it work. So you're one up on me!)

  5. Haha, nice. I always enjoy whenever one of us pulls something like this.

  6. I like the sequel. It follows quite naturally from the first page, though I also wonder what Bruce / Stephanie could have done that would be so unacceptable to the rest of Batman Inc.

I think my favourite thing about this is how it hearkens back Stephanie Brown's actions from "War Games" when she initiated a plan without Bruce's permission, but this time they were working together. Well done!
