Mouse Gaurd - The Greater World - Ben Rosenthal

1. Saxon, Kenzie, Sadie, Leiam, and Celanawe are standing in a vast Forrest. This is the furthest out they have come on their adventures.  They are looking at the reader, mouths open in awe.

What is it?

Some kind of house.

2. We are looking from behind the Mouse Gaurd now so we can see what they are looking at.  In the background stands a huge human farm house.  There are pigs locked up in a pen, and other farm yard animals.  It should look almost like a prison, but mostly resemble a farmhouse.

What kind of giant would live there?

  1. The issue of Humans hasn't been covered in the main books at all, but your page makes for a lot of fun and makes me wanna see where this adventure would go.

  2. While I haven't read Mouse Guard, a small part of me has always wondered what it would be like if they were to find humans. I know it's only a beginning, but I like the way you start it up. I'm getting an Animal Farm-vibe from this page for whatever reason, which I think works well.

  3. I both like and dislike this script. I like what you've done with the concept to get the idea across, but on the other hand I dislike the basic concept.

I haven't read Mouse Guard itself, but what I've read about it and the way they go about not using humans gives me the impression that the lack of humans is an important part of the base narrative, and that introducing them to the world of Mouse Guard would do more harm than good in the long run.

So I don't like the idea, but I like what you did with it all the same.

  4. Like MK I'm not sure about the inclusion of humans into the Mouse Guard world. But as a page this works and the central image of the second panel would have a heck of a punch when put onto a page.

    1. You did: "In the background stands a huge human farm house."

If there aren't supposed to be humans for some reason, it would have been a good idea to clarify it and tell us exactly what's going on here. As it is, you've left the reader reason to assume that this story involves introducing humans into the world of Mouse Guard.
