Spider Jerusalem – Peace & Quiet - MK Stangeland Jr.

Spider JerusalemPeace & Quiet - MK Stangeland Jr.

(This script takes place after the conclusion of TRANSMETROPOLITAN.)

(4 Panels)

Panel 1: SPIDER JERUSALEM (SPIDER) sits at his mountain retreat in a zen position without his shirt on.

SPIDER (1): (Thought balloon) Peace & Quiet

SPIDER (2): (Thought balloon) Free of the world, no obligations to anyone.

Panel 2: Repeat of Panel 1, but with an annoyed look on SPIDER’s face.

SPIDER: (Thought balloon) Then I realize how boring it all is.

Panel 3: Repeat of Panel 1.

NINJA (1): (From Off-Panel) GUAAAAAAAHHHH!

NINJA (2): (From Off-Panel) Blughhhh…

Panel 4: Repeat of Panel 3, but with a sinister grin on SPIDER’s face.

SPIDER (1): (Thought balloon) But then the ninjas try to get me.

SPIDER (2): (Thought balloon) And discover my bowel disruption fence.

  1. This seems like an after credits sequence of a film, it fits in with the over all whole and adds a nice punchy element of humour to the close. Very nice page.

  2. Take my money right now...
    A bowel disruption fence.

(The cats are getting into my trash and someone keeps stealing my recyclables.)

    Great postscript, MK.

  3. Haha. Awesome curveball here, MK. And great use of one of the series' best jokes to support that final moment. Fun stuff.

  4. The repetition of panels/viewpoint are what sells the page and the humour here. Great use of the technique.
