Panel 1- Half-page. We see our holder of Pandora's Box walking down a New York City street. His eyes are hidden by his hoodie and baseball cap. Pandora's Box is under his arm, about the size of a cigar box. The sidewalk is not packed, but it's not empty either.
CAPTION: HI.
CAPTION: I'M THE GUY HOLDING THE BOX.
Panel 2: Close on the box under his arm. He's put a few stickers on it, designs up to you, but we can see greek letters carved into the top.
CAPTION: THIS WOULD BE THE PART WHERE I TELL YOU WHO I AM, WHERE I'M COMING FROM, AND WHERE I'M GOING TO.
CAPTION: BUT LIKE THIS BOX...
Panel 3: Close up on his smirking mouth.
CAPTION: THAT'S A BOX I PLAN TO KEEP CLOSED FOR NOW.
A very self-aware page, which is a cool choice. I also like the choice of keeping the identity obscure for at least the beginning.
ReplyDeleteMy main suggestion for the page would be to switch the last caption to "That's something I plan to keep closed for now", just to avoid the box repetition.
As Grant said whats great about this page is the self aware tone of the narrator, a very bold, yet striking choice, that I feel pays off.
ReplyDeleteI also like Grants suggestion of the word change for that last caption, something to that effect makes the last panel flow slightly nicer.
"What's in the booooox?"
ReplyDeleteNice page. I like some of the more meta efforts this week, this included.
