Gwen Stacy - Anniversary - Ben Rosenthal

1.  A shot of Gwen Stacy’s tombstone at night.  A shadow is cast across it.

2.  Reverse of Panel 1.  The shadow revealed to be that of Peter Parker looking down with sorrow.

3.  Back to the framing of Panel 1, with flowers being placed on Gwen’s grave.

4.  Reverse panel once more.  Peter is walking away, head down and hands in his pockets.

For you, Peter.

  1. A simple, yet emotionally powerful page, without getting overdramatic. I'm not a fan of melodrama, so this I like.

  2. From one Spidey-fanatic to another, Ben, I really appreciated that Peter was walking away with his hands in his pockets. Class John Romita image right there. Well done.

  3. Two things struck me. Number one, your script gives the emotional beats very clearly, yet your script gives an artist enough space to interpret this in his ownstyle. Even the, as Rol called it, "John Romita" image leaves a lot of room for an artist to really express themselves. Number two, I really admire your restraint on this page, no overwrought expressions or copy, just naked grief and sorrow.
    Sad but sweet page, Ben.

  4. I like that you've underlined that a part of Peter died that day too.
